Friday, 26 September 2014 1319
During the event the experts will discuss the monitoring of public policies introduced by the Kyiv mayor during his first 100 days, and also the state of implementation of the Open Society Roadmap, provided to the city head in June 2014 available.

The roundtable will be held on September 30, 2014, from 16:00 till 18:00, at Ukrinform agency, Kyiv, Bohdan Khmelnitsky str. 8/16, meeting room, 2nd floor.

During the event the experts will discuss the monitoring of public policies introduced by the Kyiv mayor during his first 100 days, and also the state of implementation of the Open Society Roadmap, provided to the city head in June 2014.

In particular, the following issues will be discussed:

• Do we have to wait until December to get a draft city budget for 2015 and prevent the corruption risks?

• Can the public help in assessing the amounts of personal income tax, land tax, property tax, the revenues from attracting the investors and the utilities’ companies?

• How can Klytschko overcome the legacy of the "predecessors" with "Fritz Zdunek"?

• The revenue worth of 50 billion of hryvnias was lost through the land fraud. Would it be enough to admit the problems and define the first steps on land auctions without a change of the city target program?

• Two General Plans for Kyiv. What to do?

• How to control the shadow profits of utilities’ companies? Is it necessary to increase the fares in Kyiv Metro, taken the black market for metro chips sales, oversized number of employees and artificially depressed incomes from advertising in the underground?

The event is the part of the "Open and Transparent Kyiv Budget: A Step towards the Effective Spending of the Public Finances" project, implemented by the Open Society Foundation and supported by the International Renaissance Foundation.
